Why did you become a therapist/nurse practitioner/administrator?
I have been a social worker for more than 15 years, working in prisons, schools, hospitals, and in hospice. Despite the varied settings, grief and loss were frequently the main issues that individuals faced. This motivated me to work in a therapeutic setting to support individuals and couples dealing with significant loss.
If you could visit any place in the world, where would it be & why?
I have never been anywhere tropical, which, being a native Minnesotan, is ridiculous. So, a trip to Costa Rica or Bali is next on my list.
What do your clients or coworkers love & appreciate about you?
My brilliant sense of humor *wink*
What’s your favorite food?
Spaghetti and meatballs!
What do you like best about working with PHA?
I have amazing colleagues with so much expertise to share. I have another job during the day, so working at PHA is my ‘side hustle’ and I’m so appreciative for the opportunity.
What is one of the latest good books or podcasts you’ve read or listened to?
I love Where Should We Begin with Esther Perel, and I just finished Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green, which was fascinating.
