Observing Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month - PHA Wellness

Observing Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month—a time to honor families who have experienced the heartbreak of losing a child and to talk openly about something that affects so many people. Minnesota organization, Star Legacy Foundation, recently sat down with Miss Alabama 2025, Brianna Sistrunk, who shared her story and how she found hope in the hardest moments. Listen to the full podcast below.

“Where you are now is not where you’ll always be”—Brianna talks about how grief and peace can exist together, how important it is for women to know they’re not alone, and how healing takes time but does happen. Brianna reminds us that there’s probably someone in your life right now who has experienced pregnancy or infant loss—they just might not have shared it yet.

At PHA Wellness, perinatal mental health is our focus. 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage, while others face stillbirth or the loss of their baby shortly after birth. Too many families still grieve in silence. By sharing stories like Brianna’s, we can help create spaces where people feel safe to talk about their experiences.
